Biography
Shang-Ho (Lawrence) Tsai received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC), USA, in Aug. 2005, under the supervision of Professor C.-C. Jay Kuo. From Jun. 1999 to Jul. 2002, he was with the Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), where he participated the VLSI design for DMT-ADSL systems. From Sep. 2005 to Jan. 2007, he was with the MediaTek Inc. (MTK) participating in the VLSI design for MIMO-OFDM systems and standard specifications for IEEE 802.11n. Since Feb. 2007, he joined the department of Electrical Engineering at the National Chiao Tung University where he is currently a professor. His research interests are in the areas of signal processing for communications, statistical signal processing, and signal processing for VLSI designs.Dr. Tsai was awarded a government scholarship for overseas study from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan, in 2002-2005. He was a visiting fellow in the department of Electrical Engineering at the Princeton University hosted by Professor H. Vincent Poor, in Jun. 2013-Dec. 2013. He is an IEEE senior member.
